10 Questions That Will Help You Find Your Passion

find-your-passion

In my last post, “Are You Stressed About Finding Your Life Purpose? #5MinMotivation”, I wrote about why you shouldn’t be so worried when it comes to finding your Life Purpose.  Your Life Purpose does not have to be a grand find, similar to the pot at the end of a rainbow.  It could just be about finding out what you are passionate about and tying your passion with something important.  When people say, “What should I do with my life?”, they’re actually asking, “What can I do with my time that is important?”  How do you find your passion?

Take a few moments to think about what you believe is your purpose.  Did the answer come easily to you?  If it did, great.  You are amongst the few.  For most people the answer does not come easily.  What if I switched the question to, “What are you passionate about that can make a positive impact?”  When I first heard this question, I wasn’t sure about my answer.  I really had to think about it because I was trying to think about major impacts that I could make.

Sometimes, it is the small positive impacts that add up to greatness.  It is the conscious choices of making a difference that you make every day that defines who you become.  That is what can add value to the world.  Forget the one thing you were meant to do and focus on the many things that you can do.  How do you tie that into what you are passionate about?

Here are 10 Questions that will Help You Find your Passions:

  1. What do you look forward to doing?

  1. If I didn’t have a job, how would I choose to fill my hours?

  1. What am I naturally good at?  Most of the time when you are good at something, it brings you inspiration.

  1. What have you accomplished that you are most proud of?

  1. What do you do differently from everyone else? What are your unique abilities?

  1. What is my heart telling me to do?  Your heart is your best tool to access your true purpose and passion.

  1. If you had to teach something, what would it be?

  1. What activities make you lose track of time?

  1. Who inspires you the most? Which qualities about them inspire you?

Take some time and think about your answers to some or all of the above questions.  Do you notice a common theme that keeps popping up?  Out of all your answers, where can you make the biggest positive impact, or where can you add the most value?  Next, tie in what you are passionate about with what you can make money from and then, you have found your sweet spot.    This will be the difference between turning your passions into a career or a hobby.
