Does Your Dream Pass The Test?  #5MinMotivation

does-your-dream-pass-the-test

A dream remains a dream until you commit on the actions necessary to get there and START.  We all have dreams, every single one of us.  For some of us, it’s clear and vivid.  For others, it’s buried deep inside afraid to show its face for fear of not being able to attain it.  Once the dream is created, the next step is to set goals.  By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts.

There are several recommended steps that you can take to make your dream a reality.

Step 1: Dream it.  Everything begins first with the dream.

Step 2:  Believe that it is possible.  See it in your mind.

Step 3:  Turn your dream into an actionable goal.

Step 4:  Determine the actions that will lead you toward your goal.  Set your actions for the next 90 days and work backwards until you come up with your daily actions.

Step 5:  Start on your actions.

Step 6:  Review your progress regularly and adjust accordingly.

Step 7:  Share your goal and find an accountability partner.

So which one is the test to whether or not your dream will become a reality?  The real test is your ability to get your dream out there.  If you believe that your dreams are possible, share it with someone who will support you and encourage you through those difficult moments.  Do not keep your dreams to yourself.  Show your faith by shouting out your intentions.

Last week I went for supper with my family.  At one point we were talking about dreams.  We went around the table and had to guess what the other person’s dreams were.  My sons were extremely close to what I feel were my main dreams.  It reminded me of a time in my life when I didn’t think anyone was capable of telling me what my dreams were, not even those closest to me.  I used to never share my big dreams.  A part of me was afraid that I would not succeed and then would have to face those who knew about my dreams.  I did not want to look like a failure.

I eventually began to realize how important it was for me to first believe in my dreams.  To believe.  Once I did, I became less afraid to share them.  I noticed that once I started sharing them with the right people, I became even more committed to achieving them.
