2 Powerful Ways To Fuel Your Mindset (Video) #5MinMotivation

fuel-your-mindset

This month has been particularly challenging for me with my new job.  I am in training in a new company and a new position.  This requires a lot of my energy and most of my focus.  I was finding it difficult to manage my energy enough to have time for my many other priorities.  It required training my mindset to invest in anything else including keeping my content schedule with this blog and my upcoming book.  Does this happen to you?  Do you feel over scheduled and find yourself needing to fuel your mindset?

I was watching the Rio 2016 Olympics and came across a commercial which helped me to reset my mindset.  I love watching the Olympics.  Not just for rooting for my Country, Canada, but for the amazing stories that always follows.  There are always inspirational stories of athletes overcoming struggle, but in this particular instance, the motivation came from a 2 min. video.  Of course, I immediately looked it up and came across two great videos created for #TeamCanada by the retailer Sport Chek.

Even if you are not a Canadian, watch these videos and listen to them when you need to recharge.  They are both only about a minute in length but have great messages.  I have copied the words after each video if you prefer to read or follow along.

Here are 2 Powerful Videos to Watch When You Need to Fuel Your Mindset:

Olympic Manifesto #2 | #WhatItTakes #Rio2016

What will you do
When your lungs burn
And your body shakes
When the disaster in your muscles
Go from tremors to earthquakes
How will you hold on
When every rung you reach for shatters
In your grasp
And there are more ways to fall
Than there are to climb

How will you keep going
When the hands on the clock
Refuse to applaud you
Until your best time is a broken record
That skips over your next heartbeat
How will you move forward
When your feet feel like anchors
You must drag across the finish line
How will you sharpen
Into an exclamation point
The curled up question mark
Of your spine

What will it take
To keep you
From doubting yourself this time?

What do you think of the first video?  The second video takes on a different approach.  Not only will it fuel your mindset but challenge the way you think.

Opening Olympic Manifesto | #WhatItTakes #Rio2016

We hope every seat is full.
We hope you hear them cheer for everyone…but you.
We hope defeat is in your cards.
We hope your hope splinters into shards that you must handpick from the bleeding wound of your defeat.
We hope that every athlete you meet is better, more determined than you.
Because you need to be tested the same way wrong needs right.
The same way roar needs fight.
You must fight to be here.
You must pay with sacrifice,
You must disregard the price of admission,

If you want in it will cost you.
We hope for a flash flood of fear and uncertainty,
We wish this misery upon you because it gives birth to brilliance.

There will be a moment in which everything you want becomes a singular goal.
A moment of debt when every heartbeat you own can’t pay for every breath you stole.
You must pay with the whole of you, because this is the price and these are the stakes,
You must pay for all the hurts and all the aches,
You must open your heart like a vault and pay for your pain because this…this is what it takes.

Many people dream of a better life and hope for more.  Not everyone is willing to do what it takes to achieve more.  Which person do you want to be?  It is up to you.  If you choose to go after your dreams, don’t EVER let anyone stand in your way, especially you.

Our lives can get pretty hectic and it can be easy to get lost in our actions. When we are so focused on what is ahead, we forget to pause, reflect and find ways to energize our minds. These 5-minute motivation posts are meant to give you that recharge. The goal is to give you a 5-minute Vitamin for your mind through quotes, posts and videos. It is also meant to challenge your thinking and inspire you to take action.
