SET University, a technological university in Ukraine, has unveiled an ambitious scholarship program aimed at nurturing the best tech minds in the country. The news was announced by Sergey Tokarev, an IT investor and co-founder of the university.

Sergey Tokarev emphasized the main role of the SET Grants initiative in democratizing access to so much-needed technological education. The program, tailored for master’s programs in Cyber Defense, Innovation Engineering, Data Engineering, Machine Learning & Cloud Solutions, promises to cover up to 100 percent of tuition fees, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants.
The criteria for the scholarships are broad. They include such social groups as talented IT specialists, high-scoring applicants, members and veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the spouses and children of military personnel. Additionally, the program extends its support to Ukrainian women aiming to make their mark in the IT industry.
Applicants for the SET University scholarships will undergo a rigorous selection process, evaluated based on their performance in entrance exams, previous academic achievements, motivation letters, and interview outcomes.
Iryna Volnytska, President of SET University, notes the underlying philosophy of the scholarship program and compares it to an investment in the future leaders of the tech sector. According to Volnytska, this process resembles the ethos of IT startups.
Candidates can submit their applications through the link provided on the university website, with the deadline set for June 28, 2024. Sergey Tokarev emphasizes the importance of a strong desire for self-improvement and a genuine passion for advancing the IT sector to be selected for the scholarship.
The master’s programs offered at SET University blend theoretical knowledge with practical expertise and explore such areas as information security management, Artificial Intelligence, and cyber defense, under the guidance of the best industry experts. Most of the workshops will be conducted online so that the students can combine it with their careers.
As a graduation, students will undertake a project, in which they will need to develop their own startup or technological solution for a real-world company. This hands-on approach ensures that graduates emerge not only with theoretical proficiency but also with the practice required to thrive in the tech industry.
