How To Start A Movement #5MinMotivation

how-to-start-a-movement

This week’s 5-minute motivation is meant to challenge your thinking about leadership.  What does it mean to be a leader and how can a leader start a movement?  Do you want to inspire action from your team, your family or community?  Derek Sivers discusses the transformation of a “lone nut” into a leader.  He uses humor to drive his point.  It is a TED talk video that was done in February 2010, but the message is still relevant today.

Some of the points Derek discusses:

The point that is important to drive home is that leadership is not about you, it’s about them, your team.  Once the movement starts, the leader gets drowned in with the crowd.  That is what leadership is about, the crowd and their results.

What movement can you start today?

Our lives can get pretty hectic and it can be easy to get lost in our actions.  When we are so focused on what is ahead, we forget to pause, reflect and find ways to energize our minds.  These 5-minute motivation posts are meant to give you that recharge. The goal is to give you a 5-minute Vitamin for your mind through quotes, posts and videos.  It is also meant to challenge your thinking and inspire you to take action.
