Understanding Psychology to Sell Better

You might have a unique product that you believe will enhance the lives of consumers. However, regardless of how good your product really is, you must be able to sell it. Selling is an art form. To increase your sales, you need to have several basic principles down and you must understand the psychology of selling. For principles, first, you must know your target audience and market. Second, because we live in a digital world, your website and online advertisements need to be easily accessible and scannable. Third, you should have a catchy slogan or phrase that customers will remember you by.

How to Find Your Target Audience

Finding your target audience can be difficult. A lot of time it involves researching your competitors to see who their social media ads are targeted towards, and who they often mention in their blog posts. For instance, if you’re running a social media campaign, have the same ad be targeted to two different age groups to see which one responds more to your call to action (CTA).

Minimize Your Website and Landing Pages

Your landing pages should be minimal, especially if your target audience is Millennials or Gen Z. These two generational groups want minimalism. They often don’t feel as if they have leisurely time, and when they are on your website, they want to be able to gather information as quickly as possible and to make a decisive decision. Therefore, your website and landing page need to be the bare minimum to get your customers interested and to make a decision. Here are some ways to easily elevate your website:

Create Memorable Slogans

If you think about any major company, they have a slogan. Many of these slogans are accompanied by a song or tune to help you memorize the slogan and brand even more. When you’re coming up with a slogan for your business or brand, consider minimalism again. Your slogan should be short and sweet. Ideally, it will be three words or terms. Human brains enjoy and memorize patterns, three is the lowest number of elements to register as a pattern. Here are some examples of famous three-term slogans:
