Why Are Temporary Fence Covers Important?

Whether you work in an industry that uses them or have just seen them on the street, you have very likely seen temporary fencing with special covers wrapped around them. While these might look nice and help to block views, not many people pay them much attention overall.

However, they are actually a huge part of many projects, both in terms of safety and overall security. But why, and what are they important for?

Branding

First and foremost, a cover provides a flat surface to have a logo or branding (or an ad) plastered onto the fence. This can be more important than you might think, as it allows you to have your company logo, name, or other message seen from the street.

While this is a great place to post advertising, it also means that you can have contact info or other details clearly visible to passers-by. This can come in handy if anything goes wrong and they need to get in touch with you or if somebody is interested in your services but does not know how to get in contact.

Visibility

These fences are perfect for blocking out prying eyes or making sure people can’t see what is going on within the worksite. While this might not sound all that important, it prevents people from spying on easily stolen gear and also ensures that they can’t cause as many distractions.

This can be even more useful for projects that are meant to be secret until completed or are part of a larger, more high-profile project. This can work both ways, ensuring that workers are not distracted by nosy bystanders and do not have to worry about warding people away from fences if they are in potential danger.

Safety

Most fences are chain-link or a similar design, meaning that debris and dust can go right through them. A good cover can prevent this and ensure that nothing can easily pass through the fence, which can keep the site clean and prevent people outside it from being showered with debris if active construction or demolition work is happening.

Keeping the site contained in such a simple way is a huge help, especially when dealing with large, ongoing projects that might take weeks or even months to finish.

Shelter

While it is far from the only way to shelter yourself on a work site, having these fences can sometimes make a big difference in high winds or other bad weather. Each fence can often be turned into a waterproof wall that can be used to protect equipment slightly better or to stop dust from being blown around.

This is only a small benefit, but it can really help when dealing with some of the worst weather conditions or when there are no other walls nearby and not enough shelter to properly protect everything.

It is not hard to find a good Heras fencing cover option online with only a few quick searches, and they can be a good investment for any work site. While it might take some time to get custom-printed options if you want very specific branded versions, the end result will always be something great, so they are worth using if they would benefit your project.
