The one undeniable trend that surfaced during the global pandemic is the shift toward a slower more relaxed lifestyle. That trend is clearly having an effect on the housing market and has resulted in a shift in buyer demand toward homes with large, private backyards. In addition to an outdoor area, buyers were motivated to find a home with more indoor space and have the freedom to decorate, update, and renovate a home.
While home buyers were searching for a home with a spacious outdoor area, homeowners were spending extra time and money upgrading their backyards. The majority of homeowners had plans to update the landscaping, add a deck or patio, or add a pool/spa.
With 2022 wrapping up and 2023 just around the corner, there is no doubt that future homebuyers will continue to search for their own spacious outdoor area and homeowners will continue to update and renovate their backyards.
