When your business is getting bigger, it is great to get some new premises to help manage your growing operation. However, there are a lot of things to take into consideration when you’re looking at new properties. Here are some of the things to be mindful of before putting your business name on the dotted line.
Where is it located?
The location of your business can be one of the most important things that you decide on. Not only does the location of the building say a lot about the b business, the area that it is in can play a big part. When it comes to new business developments, there is a lot of work going into ensuring that the buildings are built to last. This includes getting adam drillers and ground checks carried out to prevent the buildings from falling down after a few years. This is important if your new business location is in an area that is marshy or soft rock. The last thing you need is a wall walling down during the workday.
Is it big enough?
If your business is growing and is set to grow even more, you need to ensure that your new premises are big enough for future growth. But, they shouldn’t be too big. Otherwise, you will be paying for a massive area that you do not need. This can be a tricky one to work out as you could expand quicker than you realize or you could never get past this point. Try and work out how much space you need, add a little bit extra, and see if there are other spaces that are similar nearby. You could end up adding an extension or expanding into another unit to help tackle your future size and storage issues.
Can employees get there?
It is all well and good having a growing business and a fancy new place to work out of, but can your employees get there? This is not as simple as wondering if it is within driving distance for your existing employees. The new location needs to be within reach of local transit and bus services. Otherwise, you might find yourself being short-staffed if your employees can’t get to the building. If there is no option for local transport, you could always put on your own bus service to get employees to the gates from the nearest bus stop.
What are the connections?
If you have a product that needs to be shipped out around the world, you need to ensure that you are close to the places that can make this happen. Being close to the ports and airports so that you can ship things as quickly as possible. If you have to spend extra time getting your items to customers, they can be put off ordering from you again. Don’t run the risk of being left behind and make sure that you have the best connections available to get your products out into the world.
