A primary job of a senior leader is communication, ensuring the team has the right level of information at the right time. It’s important to constantly think about the communication the team needs.
To assist with this, a routine cadence should be defined. Every week, an email is sent, and a video is recorded summarizing the email for the team. This communication includes how the team performed last week, how it’s trending, things that are changing, where the team is winning, and where it’s struggling. The aim is always to be as transparent and authentic as possible, and the weekly communication is almost never missed.

Customer success stories build more morale than any other technique that I have ever seen. Our system automatically sends an email out to each customer that appears to be a personal message from the CEO, asking for feedback about the service received.
This “personal” email increases the number of positive reviews that we get on Google or Trustpilot. At the start of each staff meeting, a few of the 5-star reviews that specific employees received are read out. After the review is read, the employee is given a chance to share with the team what he or she did to make the experience special for the client.
